Ceramic tiles

I went down to ceramics the other day and my lovely friend helped me make up some tiles, getting the glaze right is really hard, the colours are so different once their fired and alot of the detail is lost because of the layering. Im really happy with them though, there is a speckled effect on them like egg shells and i like their lightness. hopefully i'll get a chance to do more... its great to have good friends in good places!

Childspace Cookbook

I found a really nice cook book in brixton wholefoods store, its made up of different recipes from mothers of children in a playgroup, lots of really nice hand tappered meals to make with kids. The illustrations are a mixture of woodblock and ink drawn, really simple and the whole books in one colour of ink. Its made me regret the choice of watercolour.. finding somewhere to print these properly is going to be a nightmare!

Finding somewhere that will let me print onto sugar papers is proving to be difficult, i wish i just has my own printer at home, very frustrating.

My favorite book.

The new Brief.

We have to design and print a publication in 4 weeks, the minimum number of editions is 10.

i have decided to make a cheap recipe book with an aim to provide frugal recipes for healthy food that's not just beans on toast and also not got the pretension of Hugh Fearnly Whittingstal. The audience is students and foodies with a budget, those wanting to save and learn new tricks. It will be vegetarian and alot of the book should focus on beans and pulses as a really cheap source of protein. Im going to collect the recipes from friends and family and have some of my own that ive collected along the way...
